Soundarya Lahari -Shloka 51 - For attracting everyone

Sanskrit Text :

शिवे शृङ्गारार्द्रा तदितरजने कुत्सनपरा
सरोषा गङ्गायां गिरिशचरिते विस्मयवती
हराहिभ्यो भीता सरसिरुह सौभाग्य जयिनी
सखीषु स्मेरा ते मयि जननी दृष्टिः सकरुणा

Transliteration :

shivE sringArArdra taditharajanE kutsanaparA
sarOShA gangAyAm girishacharitE vismayavatI
harahibhyO bhIta sarasiruha saubhAgya jananI
sakhIShu smErA tE mayi jananI driShTih sakaruNA

Meaning :

Oh Mother, the look from your eyes, is kind and filled with love (शृङ्गार ) when looking at your Lord Siva;
Is filled with disgust (भीबत्स ) towards all those who oppose Him (and are materialistic); is filled with anger (रौद्र) when looking at Ganga, the other wife of your Lord; is filled with wonder (अद्भुत ) , when hearing about your Lord's life history and his third eye; is filled with fear (भयानकं), when seeing the snakes worn by your Lord; is filled with red colour of valour (वीर) and is the source of the colour of the lotus flower; is filled with joy (हास्य), when seeing your friends; and is filled with mercy (करुणा), towards me.


Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result

If one chants this verse 1000 times a day, for 45 days, offering honey and mung bean vada as prasadam; it is said that one would be able to attract everyone.

அருள்புரிவாய் காம்போதி அன்னையே
அம்புஜாக்ஷியே ஞான
சிருங்கார ரஸமாகும் சிவபிரானிடத்தில்
ப்ராக்ருத ஜனத்திடம் ஜிகுப்ஸையுள்ளதாகும்


(Bilahari)
கங்கையினிடத்தினில் ரௌத்ர ரஸமாகும்
சிவனுட நேற்றிகண்ணில் அற்புத ரஸமாகும்
சங்கரணி   சர்ப்பத்தில் பீதி ரஸமாகும்
செந்தாமரை போன்றதால் வீர ரஸமாகும்
பங்கஜஹரி கோஷபிலஹரி பாங்கிமாரிடம் ஹாஸ்யலஹரி
 சங்கரி ரஸம் அஷ்டலகரி தாஸன் என்னிடம் கருணாலகரி
