Soundarya Lahari - Sloka 39 - For freedom from nightmares

Sanskrit Text :

तव स्वाधिष्ठाने हुतवहं अधिष्ठाय निरतं
तमीडे संवर्तं जननि महती तां च समयाम्
यदा लोके लोकान् दहति महसि क्रोधकलिते
दयार्द्रा या दृष्टिः शिशिरं उपचारं रचयति

Transliteration :

tava svAdhiShThAnE huthavaham adhiShThAya niratam
tamIDE samvartam janani mahathIm tAm ca samayAm
yadAlOkE lOkAn dahati mahasi krOdha kalitE
dayArdrA yA druShTih shishiramupacAram racayati

Meaning :

Mother, I think and worship of the fire, In your holy  wheel of Swadishtana, and the Rudra who shines in that fire like the all-destroying fire of deluge, and you, who shine there as Samaya (as an embodiment of the element of water). When that angry fiery look of Rudra burns the world,  it gets cooled by being drenched in your merciful look.

Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result

If one chants this verse 108 times a day for 12 days, offering Pongal, Pal Payasam and honey as prasadam, it is said that one would get free from nightmares.

ஸ்ரீமாதே சந்திரகலா சக்தி
த்ரை ஜக ஜனனி

ஸ்ரீமாதே அருனொளி சுவாதிஷ்டான சக்கரத்தினில்
சம்வர்தாக்னியாக சந்ததம் துதிக்கின்றேன்

சமையை என்றும் சந்திரகலா சக்தி
சம்வர்தாக்னி ஜ்வாலை நிமலஸ்வரூபி
நினைத்து மனதில் துதித்து உமைபாகன்
ருத்ரசக்திகள் தரிசனரூப தேஜஸோளியே

சமையை  சக்தியின் தேஜஸோளியால்
சகல லோகமும் தகிக்க
கமலகடாக்ஷி கருணாமிர்த சாகரத்தால்
அமைத்தே சைத்யோபசாரத்தைச் செய்யும்
அம்புஜாக்ஷி விசாலாக்ஷி
