Soundarya Lahari - Sloka 21 - For Courage

Sanskrit Text :

तटिल्लेखातन्वीं तपनाशशि  वैश्वानरमयीं
निषण्णां  षण्णामप्युपरि  कमलानां तवकलां
महापद्मातव्यां  मृदिता मलमायेन मनसा
महान्तः पश्यन्तः दधति परमाह्लादलहरीं

Transliteration :

taTillEkhA tanvIm tapana shashi vaishvAnaramayIm
niShaNNAm ShaNNAm apyupari kamalAnAm tava kalAm
mahA padmA tavyAm mruditA malamAyEna manasA
mahAntah pashyantah dadhati paramAhladalaharIm

Meaning :

[O Mother,] you come into the minds of a true devotee, illuminating his mind in a flash and disappearing just as quickly in a manner in which a bolt of lightning appears and disappears; you are the essence of the sun, the moon and the eternal fire, residing in the thousand petaled lotus which sits above the six basis chakras and a triple joint. The ones who meditate on your eternal and magical focal form, would experience immeasurable bliss, whether they be great learned ones or ordinary people still struggling with debilitating emotions  like lust and rage, ignorance, attachment and hate and their like.

Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result

If one chants this verse1000 times each dat for 11 days, offering honey and fruits as prasadam, one would become more courageous.

சக்தி ஆனந்தவல்லி தனை நான்
பணிந்தேன் ஓம்

சக்ரரூபமான தேவி தேஜஸ் க்ஷணகாந்தி
மின்னல்கொடிபோலே சூக்ஷ்மரூப தாரி

சூர்யாசந்த்ராக்னிரூப  கமலமூலதார
ஆருபத்மசக்கரமேலே பைந்தவிதனிலே

காமக்ரோதாதிகள் அவித்தை கடந்தே மகாத்மாக்கள்
க்ஷேமமானதயவாலே ஸகஸ்ரதளத்திலே  

ஸாதையெனும் பைந்தவியில் விசாலதளமீதில்
ஸாதுக்கள்   தரிசித்தே சுகானந்தமடைவாரே
