A piece of chalk

Found this piece of chalk today, nestled in a nook in my car. A tool, an instrument that was quintessential to my work just two years ago.

It has now become a symbol of some nostalgic times. Of times, when the teacher and students used to be able to see eye-to-eye without the need of an electronic device.

I wonder when we can (if ever) return to a day when the classrooms and examinations can happen with
  • Pens that write on paper and not screens
  • Notebooks that reside in the physical world rather than the electronic one
  • Lectures that require only your eyes and ears to see and listen and not a computer screen or a speaker.
  • Questions like "are you able to see the lecture?" becoming irrelevant
