Fake वोट कट गया Calls from AAP

For the past few days, I (and some of my colleagues) have been getting calls from different mobile numbers. All of them have a common "theme".

  1. They claim to be from Aam Aadmi Party.
  2. They claim that my name has been removed from the voter list by BJP.
  3. They claim that Arvind Kejriwal is in the process of restoring my name back on the voter list.
  4. They refuse to disclose wherefrom they got my mobile number (which is not linked to my voter ID)
  5. They do not have any idea of what my Voter ID number is. Nor any of my details other than my name and mobile number.
However, I was able to check that my name is still on the Voter list.

It is quite easy to check. Just an SMS saying
EPIC
to 7738299399
would give you the answer in a reply SMS.
However, I am indignant at this misleading and outright malignant campaign. I am therefore sharing the details of my calls (and will keep on updating) and would like you to share your experiences (if any) of similar nature.

Date : 09 February 2019

Got a call from +91 8929668187.
A guy calling himself "Sahil" said that he is from Aam Aadmi Party and that my name was stricken from the voter list. He had no info other than my name and phone number. Didn't have any idea of my allegedly invalidated voter ID number.

Date : 20 February 2019

One of my colleagues again got a call from Aam Aadmi Party call centre repeating the same fake story of "Removal of name from voter list". The number was +91 9319197418

Date : 20 February 2019

I got one more call claiming to be AAP (from +91 9136986028), with the same story. This guy even claimed that my voter ID card has become invalid and I should not trust even if it shows up in Election Commission website. He had no idea that we can independently verify the validity of our Voter ID (other than looking it up on a voter list).

I had put in the question of where did he get my contact details when my mobile number was not linked to my Voter ID. He even conceded that it should have been by some illegal means but it was a job given to him to contact me, and he does not know what is the source from which the voters' mobile data has been skimmed (illegally).

But, this person was "ready" to give contact details (where he said I can verify his claims). He gave an address :

C206, Rouse Avenue, Deendayal Upadhyay Marg,
Near ITO Metro.

And two phone numbers :
9718500606
9818500606

I later realised that these are the official contact details of AAP. (See in https://aamaadmiparty.org/)
