Yesterday night, as I was lost in my dreams, I had a dream in which I seemingly was having a conversation with GOD. Now, you may say that this is over the top. But, you should remember that it was a dream and dreams usually are as logical as a David Dhawan or a Rohit Shetty movie.
From that viewpoint, this dream may not be the weirdest of my dreams. I myself may have been GOD in some other dream of mine. But, the specialty of this dream was that I remembered its contents when I woke up, and strangely, they made some sense.
In the dream, I was discussing with GOD on the origins of two human vices. Greed and Intolerance. As dreams have the volatility of dry ice on a hot day, this was all that was retrievable at the time of this posting.
My argument was that it was GOD's own actions that had resulted in the creation of these two vices.
Greed : GOD created Adam and Eve (or their equivalents as first humans) and sent them on to earth. Initially, they have the entire earth to themselves and thus were not (technically) greedy. They had everything that they could imagine. But, as the population increased, the resources were distributed. Now, the ones who had enjoyed more resources earlier, had to get contended with less. This would have certainly caused some unhappiness and longing to have more. Since, this was the beginnings of the human race, this unhappiness got ingrained in the human psyche as Greed.
Intolerance : For most part of history, GOD had remained inaccessible to most of the human race. GOD was incomprehensible and had revealed thyself to a select few prophets and seers. GOD's message to the human race was received by the masses through the interpretations of the prophets, which may not have been the exact message. One such message is, "You are all my children.". Which got interpreted as, "Members of religion X are all GODs children. Others are not, as they worship false gods." . Thus, everybody thought themselves to be of a 'superior' group and others are either inferior and to be converted or worse evil and to be eliminated. This sowed the roots of Intolerance.
Strange it may seem, flawed it may be, but this logic does make some sense. That was the primary reason for writing this post. The other being that blasphemy not being a punishable offence in my country.
