Soundarya Lahari - Sloka 30 - For Transmigration

Sanskrit Text :

स्वदेहोद्भूताभिः घृणिभिः  अणिमाध्याभिः अभितः
निषेव्ये नित्ये त्वामहमिति सदा भावयति यः
किमाश्चर्यं तस्य त्रिनयनसमृद्धिं  तृणयतो
महासंवर्ताग्निः विरचयति नीराजनविधिं

Transliteration :

svadEhOdbhUtAbhih ghruNibhih aNimAdhyAbhih abhitah
niShEvyE nityE tvAmahamiti sadA bhAvayati yah
kimAshcaryam tasya trinayana samruddhim truNayatO
mahAsamvartAgnih viracayati nIrAjana vidhim

Meaning :

O, Eternal One, I bow to you who is omnipresent due to the effect of the eight siddhis which are the embodiment of the radiance emanating from your Lotus feet. To the one who considers you to be his soul (and meditates on you),  even the wealth held by Lord Siva would seem worthless. Even the all-destroying apocalyptic fire would become 'mangala harati' for him. Is that surprising? Not at all.


Ashtasiddhis : Anima (shrinking the body to atomic size), Mahima (expanding the body to infinitely large size), Garima (making the body exteremely heavy), Laghima (making the body almost weightless), Praati (accessing all places), Praakaamya (realizing whatever one desires), Ishtva (possessing absolute lordship), Vastva (ability to subjugate all)

Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result

If one chants this verse1000 times each day for 96 days, offering sweets, honey, til rice and betel leaves as payasam, it is said that one would be able to do 'parakaya pravesham' (i.e., transmigration of their soul from their living body to another body).

ஆத்யந்தரகிதே ஹே நிதயே 
மங்கலமாய் விளங்கும் அம்பிகே

பாதாரவிந்தத்தில் பரவியணிமாதி
ஜோதி அஷ்ட்டமாசித்தி சூழும் சுந்தரியை

சித்திகள் சூழும் உம்மை த்யாநிக்கும் சாதகன்
நித்யஸ்வரூபி நின் உருவை அடைந்து
சித்ரூபியே சந்திர சூரியாக்கிநிநேத்ர
சதாசிவ ஐஸ்வரியத்தை திருணீகரித்தவனாகையில்


ருத்ர தேஜோ ரூபமாக விளங்கும்
பிரளயாக்கினி தீப ஹாரத்தியைப்போல்
நித்ய கல்யாணியே நீராஜனம் செய்வதில்
அதியாச்சரியம் என்ன அன்னை விசாலியே
