Soundarya Lahari - Sloka 23 - Freedom from debt

Sanskrit Text :

त्वया हृत्वा वामं वपुरपरितृप्तेन मनसा 

शरीरार्धं शंभोः अपरमपि शङ्के हृतमभूत्

युदेतत्त्वद्रूपं  सकलमरूणाभं  त्रिनयनं

कुचाभ्यां आनम्रं कुटिलशशि  चूडालमकुटम्       

Transliteration :


tvayA hrutvA vAmam vapuraparitruptEna manasA
sharIrArdham shambhOh aparam api shankE hrutamabhUt
yadEtattvadrUpam sakalam arUNAbham trinayanam
kucAbhyAm Anamram kuTilashashi cUDAlamakuTam

Meaning :

[O Mother,] for some reason your image fills in my heart with a form emanating crimson aura, with three eyes, and your torso slightly bent forward due to two breasts, with a crown decorated by the crescent moon. I suppose that after occupying the left half of the body of your consort, Lord Shiva, you were still unsatisfied and went on to occupy the right half too.

Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result

If one chants this verse1000 times each day for 45 days, offering payasam and black gram vada as prasadam, it is said that one would gain riches and become free from debt.

பகவதி த்ரிபுராரி சிவ வாமபாக சரீரீ

மகிழும் ஹ்ருதய மலரினில் வாழும் 

மிகசிவந்த காந்த ரூபி 

திகழும் சசி சூடும் மகுடம் திரு நயன 

திருமருங்குடன்

பரமசிவ வாமபாகம் பகுந்து மனம் போதாமல் 

மறுபடியும் வலது பாகம் அடைதீர் என்றே யூகம் கொண்டேன் 

திருவுறுபாகம் சிவப்பு வெண்மையாக சொரூபம்
விளங்கும் மதால்
அருணவர்ண ஜோதிரூபம் அங்கழகும்
ஒளிர்வதால்
அர்த்தநாரி உலகதாக்ஷி அரசொரூபி அம்புஜாக்ஷி
திருவடிபணி விசாலாக்ஷி சிவஸ்வரூப காமாக்ஷி
