Soundarya Lahari - Slokam 06 - For fertility

Sanskrit Text :

धनुः पौष्पं मौर्वी महुकरमयी पञ्च विशिकाः 

वसन्तः सामन्तो मलयमरुतायोधनरथः 

तथाप्येकः सर्वं हिमगिरिसुते कामपि कृपां 

अपाङ्कात्ते लब्ध्वा जगदिदमनङ्गो विजयते  

Transliteration :

dhanuh paushpam maurvI madhukaramayI pancha vishikA

vasantah sAmantO malayamarutAyOdhanaratah

tathApyEkah sarvam himagirisutE kAmapi krupAm

apAnkAttE labdhvA jagadidamanangO vijayatE

Meaning :

[Manmadha, ] with a bow made of flowers which would wilt in a strong grip; with a line of bees as a bow-string which would wither when touched; with a quiver containing only five flowers (asoka tree flowers, blue and white lotus, jasmine and mango flowers) as arrows; with the spring season serving as an advisor who is present only for a quarter of the time; with the south-west winds as his great chariot which he cannot ascend; yet it is entirely due to the benevolent grace of you, the daughter of the mountains; that even with such handicaps, the one who was made body-less is able to win over the world.

Pooja Vidhi and Proposed Result :

If one chants this verse 500 times each day for 21 days, and offers sugarcane as prasadam, it is said that they would have the boon of parenthood even if they were impotent!

Tamil Interpretation:

மலயன் ராஜகுமாரி ஸ்ரீராஜ குமாரி
மங்கள சிவ சங்கரி மகாமாய மகேஸ்வரி

சைல  மணியே உந்தன் ஸகாயம் தன்னைப் பெற்றே
உலகையே ஜயிக்கிறான் உல்லாச மன்மதனும்

தனுவோ புஷ்பமதால் தொடுமுன்னே கசங்கிடும்
விண் நானோ வண்டின்வரிசை துண்டாகப் பிரிந்துபோம்
அணிபாணம் ஐந்து வகை புஷ்பங்கள் ஆனதாலே
மௌனமாகவே வேண்டும் மலர்பாணம் தொடுத்தபின்
மந்திரியான சிநேகிதனோ வசந்தகால ருதுவாகையால்
தந்திரயுக்த்தி தைரியம் சொல்ல தகுதியானவனல்லையால்
யுத்தத்தில் ஏறும் ரதமோ இனிய மலையமாருதம்
யாத்திரை செள்ளவேன்றால் ஏறவோ முடியாது
ஜிதேந்திரியர் சிவனால் சரீரம் தகித்ததனால்
உத்தேசித்தேரிடவோ உருவமும் இல்லாததால்
மனதினால் ஜெயசிந்தைசெய்ய தகுதியாகாத மன்மதன்
கனவிசலாக்ஷி கடாக்ஷத்தை பெற்று உலகம் ஜெயிப்பது மகிமைதான்
